Artisan and regional products, culinary delights, cultural and children's program, Guided tours through Altenberg and the monastery landscape
With the transnational project "Cisterscapes - Cistercian landscapes connecting europe", the Altenberg monastery landscape, together with 16 Cistercian monastery landscapes from five European countries, was awarded the European Heritage Label in April 2024. Monastic landscapes from Germany, France, Austria, Poland, Slovenia and the Czech Republic are involved. The overarching aim is to bring the former Cistercian network back to life and promote a common identity.
At the end of April, a monastery market will be held in Altenberg for the second time, where products from the monasteries will be on sale, there will be guided tours of Altenberg and the surrounding area, you can sample typical Cistercian dishes and children can also look forward to a varied program. More details about the program will be announced soon.
