Nature parks are large-scale landscapes of special character and beauty, consisting mainly of landscape protection and nature conservation areas. They serve the preservation and further development of the natural and cultural landscape with its flora and fauna.

They support sustainable tourism and create infrastructure and offers for recreation, environmental education and sustainable regional development. Experiencing and discovering the special features of the region play an important role.

Fundamental to the completion of the tasks is the continuous cooperation with the municipalities and regional partners with the involvement of the local people.

As a quality nature park, the Bergisches Land Nature Park is oriented toward the tasks and goals of the nature parks in Germany 2030.

We are in the process of creating a nature park plan that includes the tasks, goals and concrete projects that will serve as orientation in the coming years. This process will be completed in 2023.
