Stage 8: Bergneustadt - Wildbergerhütte
Through rustling forests and small villages, the hiker climbs imperceptibly up to the Blockhaus winter sports area—490 meters above sea level, high above the Eckenhagen health resort. Along the way, hikers can take a break at the edge of one of the last juniper heaths in the Oberberg region. Right next to the former ski jump at Blockhaus, hikers are finally greeted by a panoramic view that, on a clear day, allows the eye to wander all the way to the Siebengebirge on the horizon.
