The Bergischer Weg is Germany's most beautiful hiking trail 2024!

The Bergisch character of nature reserves and beautiful forests is clearly visible here.

This stage, which leads through the 8,200-hectare nature reserve of Königsforst and Wahner Heide, is rich in forest. From the former mining town of Bensberg with its baroque palace complex, the route leads to Monte Troodelöh, the highest elevation in the city of Cologne. From there, the trail leads to Rösrath-Forsbach.

If you hike the Bergischer Weg and take photos at certain points along the way, you can collect points and receive a hiking pin. You can find more information here

We would like to thank Dieter Vierkotten, who looks after the trail as a volunteer trail patron.
