Tradition meets modernity: The Hotel zur Post is located in the heart of Wiehl in the Bergisches Land, right by Wiehlpark – with 46 rooms, its own restaurant with beer garden, and six rooms for celebrations and conferences.
Since December 2025, the historic establishment on Hauptstraße has been operated under new management. Most of the 46 rooms offer views of Wiehlpark, some with balconies. In the morning, a breakfast buffet awaits, and in the evening the Restaurant zur Post serves modern regional cuisine – from pumpkin soup to flame-grilled salmon over beech wood fire to vegetarian dishes. For weddings, family celebrations, and conferences, the divisible large hall (20–300 guests), the Neue Posthalterei (110 sqm, up to 80 guests), and the restaurant (up to 70) are available. A cozy beer garden invites you to linger in the summer when the weather is nice. The hotel is not barrier-free.
When it gets cold outside, the Hotel zur Post is a cozy starting point for winter hikes in the Bergisches Land and excursions to Homburg Castle. In the restaurant, hearty dishes like old-Bohemian beef goulash and warm apple strudel warm you up. Around the holidays, there are special menus and events – current dates at www.hzpw.de/events.
