The Old Cemetery in Eitorf was used as a burial ground from 1805 to 1967. The grounds, which now resemble a park and are located in the center of Eitorf, are listed as a historic site along with their remaining graves.

Today, this historic, protected site is a peaceful place of remembrance, gathering, and history. With its historic gravesites and park-like layout, the Old Cemetery is one of Eitorf’s most special places, which the municipal administration, together with the Eitorf Heritage Society, is committed to preserving.
As early as the Middle Ages, the deceased were buried around the old church on the market square. In the early 19th century, the Old Cemetery as we know it today was finally established on what was then Uckerather Straße.
Since the first burial in 1805, the cemetery has evolved over many decades into an important place of remembrance for Eitorf. It was used as a burial ground until 1967.
Today, the site is a protected historic monument and is included in the “Register of Historic Gardens and Parks” in Germany.
You can find the Old Cemetery on Schoellerstraße. Another entrance is on Kirchstraße, near house number 10.
