Angeln an der Sieg in Windeck

The ASV Obere Sieg has leased a section of the Sieg River approximately 22 km long, stretching downstream from Au/Sieg (the state border with Rhineland-Palatinate) to the confluence with the Dellenbach near Röcklingen. Of this, approximately 18 km is open to day visitors. The river has both slow- and fast-flowing sections. Two small weirs (Geilhausen and Dattenfeld), as well as the Siegfall rapids near Schladern followed by a rapid section, ensure sufficient water even during dry periods. The water depth allows for wading almost everywhere. Day permits are issued year-round.
