Die Furt liegt in den "Ohler Wiesen", einer Freizeitanlage, die zum Verweilen einlädt.
Wipperfürth was founded at a crossing between the Bergische Eisenstraße (Iron Route) to Remscheid and the Heerweg coming from Cologne, which fords the Wupper at a flat point along the banks.
As part of the re-naturing of the Wupper, a ford has been reconstructed there. So you can cross the river while keeping your feet dry using the big stepping stones - as long as there is no flooding.
The recreated ford is part of Bergisch Ramble No. 3, the Heimatweg, and is great fun for both young and old.
The ford is in "Ohler Wiesen", a recreation facility that invites you to picnic and linger for a while.
