Way up high on the transporter bridge
The cities of Remscheid and Solingen are separated by just a few kilometres as the crow flies. But arguably, the most exciting way to get from one of these destinations to the other is on the transporter bridge from Müngsten Bridge park. Held by thick wire ropes, you’ll crank your way across the Wupper and add a new dimension to your adventure.
While the hiking trails along the Remscheid side of the Wupper in the direction of Schloss Burg are relatively flat and therefore offer the best conditions for leisurely cycling and relaxed hiking, the Solingen side has exciting high-altitude trails for those wanting more hardcore physical activity.
Who can use the transporter bridge?
Up to ten people including pushchairs, wheelchairs, dogs or bikes can all take an exciting ride across the river during the summer. The on-site team will make sure your crossing is a smooth one and are there to offer active support on the rocker if you need it.
Good to know: Transporter operation is dependent on the weather. If there is heavy rain, frost or temperatures above 28 degrees Celsius, the transporter cannot operate. More information can be found here.
