The Wiehl dam shows that the Upper Berg reservoirs have more to offer than just their water.
Right at the start of this stage, there is an island to discover that has become famous as an advertising medium for a beer brand. Christmas tree plantations line the path up to the highest point of this stage near Erdingen, from where you can see large parts of the Bergisches Land. Rome is not far from here either: the Upper Bergisch equivalent of the Holy City even has a helicopter landing pad as well as a chapel and offers a worthwhile detour before the path leads down to the main town of the municipality of Morsbach.
