Your entry begins on quiet paved roads through an open landscape with meadows and pastures until you pass the high-altitude villages of Öttershagen and Langenberg. A beautiful path section takes you through forests and stream valleys into the Rosbachtal, where a break is recommended. In summer, the foxglove blooms here, and large pines line the way. After another path section, the former forest hospital "Auguste Viktoria-Stift" glimmers through the branches – once a lung sanatorium that reminds of Thomas Mann's "Magic Mountain." Although not exactly a mountain, but high enough that hang gliders use it as a starting place, the "Old Chair" awaits you with beautiful views. Then the route leads over a field path across bumps and stones, before another forest stretch follows: on the areas of former spruce cultures, more climate-resilient mixed deciduous forests are developing here. Behind the small village of Distelshausen begins a nice march along cow pastures. In spring and summer, the buzzing from the nearby beehives can be heard. Behind Kohlberg, the stud farm "Alpakas des Westens" offers you an exotic surprise. On the top of the hill, you can see the Siebengebirge on a clear day. Through hamlets and fields, you reach your starting point after one last forest section.
