As soon as you leave the beautiful forest paths above Herchen, after crossing some meadow areas, the first roofs of Stromberg rise up. Back to the Sieg, on its bank stand some centuries-old oaks. Cormorants also fish here and make themselves comfortable in the trees. Into the nature reserve "Wälder auf dem Leuscheid", which is counted among the most beautiful and largest forest areas in NRW. In the beech-oak forest, you reach a mountain peak with a ring wall structure over 1000 years old on a long forest road through the Kesselbachtal. There, a seating area offers a place to rest. Then continue alternately on paths and wider trails, crossing a beautiful stream meadow to the "Studchen" with a cozy resting place and a view. Afterwards, narrow paths take you to a nicely arranged spring, said to have healing properties. The last stretch to Herchen is along natural footpaths winding through open deciduous forest.
