A world full of myths: On the trail of elves, unicorns and Robin Hood.
The 12.8-kilometre forest myth trail invites hikers to embark on a journey through the history of forest myths. The eleven information boards along the way reveal mysterious creatures that people have believed to be at home in the forest for thousands of years.
Hikers can explore the secret of unicorns as well as the background to the legend of Robin Hood. They will also learn what connects the Smurfs to gnomes, how the garden gnome found its way into German gardens and how a worldwide initiative to save the forests was born from a nine-year-old boy's school report.
The trail is full of variety, leading to the "Panarbora" nature adventure park currently under construction on the edge of Waldbröl town center and offering views of the Oberberg hills as well as pretty villages.
Parts of the STREIFZUG run along the route of the "Bergischer Panoramasteig".
The trail has a total of 11 information boards and 8 audio stations. We would like to thank Gabriele Leonhard, who looks after the trail as a volunteer trail patron.
