Altenberg Fairytale Forest

Short facts

  • Odenthal

Der über 90 Jahre alte Märchenwald ist ein wunderschöner Ort für Familien und Freunde von Grimms Märchen.

At the age of 90, the fairytale forest in Odenthal-Altenberg is still a wonderful place for families and fans of Grimms’ Fairytales. A place where you can switch off from a hectic everyday life. Here, families experience the magic of the most famous Brothers Grimm fairytales. Children are enchanted by the fascinating old sagas, while their parents can indulge in reliving some of their childhood memories. Along the idyllic forest paths, more than 20 buildings, lovingly decorated and some with moving figures and presentations, await the curious gaze of children and adults, underscored with music and narrative texts. Dogs are welcome too, but they must be kept on the lead.

In the interest of the safety of the guests, the park does not open in stormy weather. If this happens, you will be informed on a daily basis on the fairytale forest’s Facebook page.

The adjoining fairytale restaurant offers treats for all the senses. A further attraction at the fairytale restaurant is the dancing fountains. A water organ where colourfully lit water figures move to classical music as if by magic. Please ask at the restaurant for current water organ performance times.
