Third stage of the Bergischer Panoramasteig from Kürten Biesfeld to Dhünn.

A fascinating panoramic view of the Rhine Valley and Cologne Cathedral beckons right at the start of this stage, which leads through the donkey village of Bechen to the Große Dhünn-Talsperre. Numerous animals, including endangered species such as the kingfisher, little grebe and black stork, can be observed at the drinking water reservoir, which is secured by a wide protection zone. The trail leads over two pre-barrage dams of the second largest drinking water dam in Germany with 81 million cubic meters to the secluded village of Dhünn at the inlet of the Kleine Dhünn.

We would like to thank Winfried Rehbach, Joachim Kutzner and Brigitte Meller, who look after the trail as volunteer trail patrons.
