After leaving Merten, the route continuously ascends through charming deciduous forest and around the 234 m high rise called "Küpp." After a section through a light forest renewal area, a meadow path leads you downhill into the idyllic Mengbach Valley. Always follow the stream through the narrow valley, steep and densely wooded mountain slopes border the valley on the left and right. What a peace! Many rare animal and plant species find a very special ecological niche in the stream and the adjoining wild meadows. A narrow forest path leads you to the "Gecksbitze." In the forest, a green clearing under chestnut trees surprises you. On the hill ridge, you discover a solitary orchard. The Storcker Hütte offers an opportunity for a relaxing rest on a lush meadow area with a barbecue site and a hiking lounger. Afterwards, the route goes via a quiet road into the Dörferbach Valley and along wooded slopes to Bohlscheid. On the comfortable stretch, you can fully enjoy the fantastic panoramic view. To finish, you encounter the Überbuschbach on narrow paths and hike over the Kelterser Berg and the Sieg Bridge to Eitorf Station. The Sieg welcomes us again.
