At the beginning, you hike the Philosophenweg – a narrow path on the steep bank of the Sieg. On the areas of the former spruce forest, a new forest is developing. On wider paths, you then go onto a wide, partially wooded height and later steeply down again to the Sieg. On tight hairpin bends, you overcome almost 80 meters of elevation on about 200 meters of trail! The idyllic Sieg floodplains around Hoppengarten line the hike. For a short time, you have to part from the view of the river as you go up to Auenberg. Then down narrow paths through deciduous forest to Übersetzig and back to the Sieg bank. Here, a fantastic path winds in slight ups and downs above the river, offering a hint of adventure. At the entrance to Dreisel, the Natursteig Sieg makes a long loop through a nature reserve meadow valley, then after crossing the Sieg, ascends through a bright oak forest. After Altwindeck, it is not far anymore. The museum village and the impressive Windeck castle ruin are worth a visit. It was exhausting but beautiful!
