Beyenburg Reservoir

Short facts

  • Wuppertal

The Wupper dams up picturesquely at the foot of the Beyenburg old town | Beyenburg Reservoir

The reservoir operated by the Wupperverband in Wuppertal Beyenburg has only existed since the early 1950s, yet it seems as though it has always been there. Boat enthusiasts train on the water and paths around the banks invite people to go for walks in nature. Also worth seeing and just around the corner: the possibility of taking a stroll through Beyenburg’s backdrop of half-timbered houses to the monastery church. Those who are hungry and thirsty after all that exercise can then pay a visit to the nearby Landhaus Bilstein.
