Von Engelskirchen-Ründeroth nach Lindlar

The first stage of the Bergischer Panoramasteig leads from the bustling town of Ründeroth in the winding Agger valley up to the "stone-rich" town of Lindlar, so nicknamed because of its productive quarries.

The stone quarried around the tranquil village is known worldwide as Lindlar greywacke and has been used in Frankfurt Airport, Dubai and on the yacht of a Russian billionaire. On the way, a detour to the artificial mountain of :metabolon is tempting. Under this name, a former landfill site has been transformed into an environmental learning site with leisure facilities such as a giant slide.

We would like to thank Heiko Daniel and Sebastian Höller, who look after the trail as volunteer trail patrons.

Here you can find all the hosts on stage 1.
