Between the Bergisch cities of Solingen, Wuppertal and Remscheid, this wooded stage leads mostly on well-maintained forest paths from the historic centre of Gräfrath to Burg Castle and only hints at the proximity to the large industrial cities. Passing the Fauna animal park and the Gräfrath light tower, the route first leads along field paths and through the Klosterbusch down to the Wupper, before beautiful forest paths lead uphill through the Burgholz arboretum with its exotic trees (ascent approx. 100 metres).
As you continue through the woods around Wuppertal-Cronenberg, you will see various traces of industrial history, including the Manuelskotten and the Bergische Museumsbahn railway. The route continues along the Rheinbach stream down to the Morsbach stream, through the valley of which the Bergischer Weg now meanders past Remscheid. From the Morsbach valley, you finally reach the Brückenpark Müngsten with its impressive railway bridge via further forest paths uphill and downhill. A detour down to the Wupper is definitely worthwhile! The route now continues along mostly wide forest paths along the slopes of the Wupper to Solingen-Burg, where you can take the cable car up to the castle in a relaxed manner.
- No marked access route at the start of the stage, as it is located directly in the centre of Solingen-Gräfrath
