The Bergischer Weg is Germany's most beautiful hiking trail 2024!

High above the River Wupper, the castle where the Counts of Berg once resided is an impressive sight.

The route there initially seems like a journey around the world: trees from all over the world grow in the former testing ground for hardy tree species near Wuppertal-Cronenberg. The route continues under Germany's highest railway bridge to Müngstener Brückenpark and Unterburg, from where the final ascent to Schloss Burg can be climbed in a chairlift.

Walking time: approx. 7 hours

If you hike the Bergischer Weg and take photos at certain points along the way, you can collect points and receive a hiking pin. Further information is available here.
