The short but very varied route starts at the forecourt of Herchen Bahnhof stop. Here the trains of RE 9 (Köln-Siegen) and the S-Bahn lines S12 and S19 stop. Free parking is also available. The spa town of Herchen is already signposted directly at the station. After just 300 m, the route turns right and runs next to the railway line with a bicycle bridge over the Sieg. Up to Röcklingen, the route is pleasantly flat and signposted as Radweg Sieg. A stop in Herchen is worthwhile. The spa park and the ensemble of buildings testify to a long tradition of local recreation in the Sieg valley. From Röcklingen it gets sporty. At the junction, we follow the signs for Leuscheid. A total of 250 meters of elevation must be climbed to the highest point. Shortly before Ohmbach, a short break is worthwhile at the healing spring, which is only a few meters from the path at the brook. At the sports field in Leuscheid, we leave the signposted route and ride through the town centre. GPS navigation is recommended here. At the evangelical church, we keep right and follow the main road to Kuchhausener Kirchweg. Here it goes back into the forest. The next highlight, the basalt crater Blauer Stein, is just a short distance away. From the car park, the route is signposted again. Behind the model airfield, directly on the state road, we reach junction 62 and follow the signs Stromberg/Herchen Bahnhof/junction 61. From here it goes downhill for almost 5 kilometres. The once dense forest now offers many views of the Sieg valley. Down at the Sieg, numerous benches in the oak grove invite you to take a break. It is now not far back to the starting point Herchen Bahnhof. The last 3 kilometres can be enjoyed relaxed on the Radweg Sieg.
